Lake County Modelers and Flyers Association was formed to promote modeling in the West Michigan area. As a club, we are a diverse group with members spread across the state of Michigan. Our membership also includes out of state residents from Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin.

Our home base is at the Baldwin Municipal Airport which has a 3800′ X 75′ Main runway and lots of clear air space for flying.

In the past two years the club has added a paved RC taxiway and pit row at the midway point on the main runway for our larger RC jets and planes. We have installed a 120′ X 60′  fabric mat, on one of the two turf runways at our main RC flying area, to help those with the smaller wheels take off and land. By looking at Google Maps at the Baldwin Municipal Airport you can get an idea of our club layout, with the grass runways and rc car track.

Lake County Modlers and Flyers are typically out at the flying field, weather permitting, on Wednesday and Sundays evenings. During the winter we are flying in the Baldwin Elementary gym on Wednesday evenings.

We encourage, boys and girls – children of all ages, to come out and learn to fly.  Your plane or one of ours.
